From the HOA ( http://www.lawsonhoa.com/lawson/home.asp) Nestled in a beautiful setting of old hardwoods, Lawson is comprised of approximately 558 acres, with over 1/3 acreage dedicated to common lands, including the preservation of a magnificent 150-year-old oak tree known as "Heritage Oak."  Named after naturalist John Lawson, many of the streets are actually inspired by his 1709 first folio edition of  "A New Voyage to Carolina."  Established in 2006, Lawson has miles of walking trails, tennis courts, and beautiful amenities including a Millhouse, fitness center, and swim complex.  With its expansion, the community also added in 2016 another pool and fitness center.
