About Mark Johnson

I am a third generation Real Estate Broker and I began my career working for a competing company that once employed my father. I initially volunteered as an assistant and buyers agent with a local top producer, for over a year. I believe whole heartedly in the mentoring process, I did not want to just learn how to put together a few sales I wanted to learn how to be a great Realtor.

My experiences in real estate under this agent ranged from: selling homes, to delivering flyers and digging sign posts. In addition to the time invested in working in real estate, I worked evenings driving a forklift for a year and a half for financial support. This was soon unnecessary as my sales began to rival my mentors: we then became partners and formed Leigh & Johnson Real Estate Marketing Group. As partners our sales had exceeded over $43,000,000 a year, and average over 30 million per year. The success of our partnership motivated us to purchase a Windermere franchise. I was now an owner of a franchise of the same company that employed my father.

I am very driven and goal-oriented. I compose a list every morning of the tasks I aim to complete by the end of the day. I set goals of being a designated broker by the age of 25 and to be the owner of a national franchise by the age of 30- both were realized. I opened my own office with a supporting staff of more than 40 agents. Having met another goal, I soon realized that not every goal one sets is a wise choice. Franchise ownership had been a goal of mine, but not the desire of my heart.

I decided to resume my career in new and resale home sales and marketing to your families. This is the job I love! I have chosen Keller William Real Estate to my business partner because of their ability to add the leading technology, support staff (that included 150 real estate agents in my office) and a lifestyle that believes God is first, Family is second and business is third. I believe with this mindset all three of those areas of life come in to line in much better way.

Keller Williams Realty is an international real estate franchise with headquarters in Austin, Texas. Founded in 1983 by Gary Keller and Joe Williams, it grew from a single office in Austin to approximately 700 offices and 100,000 associates worldwide. It is the largest real estate franchise by agent count in North America and the only privately held global residential real estate brokerage. It is an Inc. 5000 company and has been recognized as a top rated real estate company and franchise by numerous publications including Entrepreneur Magazine and Forbes.

What should buyers check before purchasing a waterfront home in Seabeck, WA?

The big four: flood-zone designation and what flood insurance will actually cost, the condition of any seawall or shoreline protection, how salt and moisture exposure have been managed (roof, windows, HVAC), and any rules covering docks, rentals, or shoreline changes. Ask for elevation certificates and insurance history up front.

Does waterfront property hold its value?

Waterfront homes are scarce by definition and historically command a durable premium, but carrying costs (insurance, maintenance) run higher than inland homes — so the right comparison is net of those costs. A local agent can show waterfront-vs-inland resale history for the area.
