About Ron and Dorothy Allen

Ron and Dorothy were bring many years of residential listing, sales and management experience in the real estate market.   Having lived on the Monterey Peninsula for 30+ years, Ron and Dorothy are well acquainted with the area and its surroundings and have had the experience of buying and remodeling several homes on the Peninsula.

Ron received a BA in Advertising and Marketing from Cal State University, San Francisco, and after becoming a Realtor in Carmel in 1976 and a broker in 1984, he specialized in residential properties in Carmel and surrounding areas and was on the Board of Directors for the Carmel Board of Realtors.

Prior to moving to Carmel, Ron owned and managed a furniture design store on Hawaii.  Back on the Peninsula and in conjunction with the opening of the Monterey Bay Aquarium, Ron opened Bay Bikes, a bicycle touring and rental business, with locations in Carmel, Carmel Valley and Cannery Row, which he operated for over 18 years before returning to real estate. He served on the board of directors of the Cannery Row Association for 17 years, and was on the Board of Directors for Carmel Youth Baseball.

A major in business management, Dorothy was employed in property management before becoming the office manager for Re/Max Monterey Peninsula in the 1990s, during which time she was named as Re/Max's top administrator for Northern California in 1996.

Before entering real estate, Dorothy was involved in corporate advertising, the stock brokerage business and financial management of a local law firm.  She was active as a volunteer in the Carmel Unified School District and served as President of the Parent Club for two years at both Carmel River and Woods Schools. She is also a certified yoga instructor.

Ron and Dorothy are active members in the Carmel Chamber of Commerce, the Carmel Valley Chamber of Commerce, the Carmel Valley Historical Society and the Carmel Foundation, of which Ron is the Chairman of the Audit Committee.
