About Rick Warner

Rick Warner ranks among Sonoma County's premier real estate agents. Deeply connected to his community, he has expert knowledge of the areas' neighborhoods, pricing trends, and opportunities for families. Rick brings the perspective and wisdom accumulated from hundreds of completed purchases and sales.

“I look forward to being able to use my extensive experience in helping my clients make the best deal they can weather buying or selling a home. Knowing how to navigate in today’s real estate market is more important than ever. Joining Keller Williams allows me to have the very best the industry has to offer in terms of ongoing training, technology and support. I think we make a great team!” Rick Warner.

As a long-time Sonoma County resident and committed family man, Rick is deeply engaged in his community, and serves on the school board at his children's schools and assisting local non-profits that are dedicated to enhancing the community. Rick is married with 4 kids and has lived Marin and Sonoma Counties for the last 25 years. When professional, family, and community activities leave a brief space, Rick enjoys a competitive game of tennis or a round of golf.

Rick started in real estate in 2004, founding and leading his own company, PricePoint Realty.  His mission was to provide an affordable, full-service real estate agency. After six highly successful years, Rick merged his firm with Keller Williams, a national real estate firm recognized as a leading real estate innovator. Commenting on joining the Keller Williams team, Rick says: "Working with Keller William provides the backing and depth of a national organization, but one with a unique, local focus on each real estate market."

As a Core Team member, Agent Leadership Council member, and Trainer, Rick continues his successful career with Keller Williams.

I grew up in Northern California, attended Sonoma State University and settled down in Sonoma County where I still live with my wife and three children. I currently serve on the board of directors and am involved in many organizations such as: COTS, The W Foundation and Mary Collins School. I believe that being involved in the community is essential for a better learning and living experience for generations to come.

I have been in the mortgage business for 9+ years serving clients all over California. I close an average of 70+ million dollars in Mortgage Loans annually, which allows me to help hundreds of home owners in their quest to save money on a refinance or purchase a new home. To insure the smoothest outcome when obtaining a mortgage, the key is to work with a professional EARLY in the process. This means meeting with a mortgage professional BEFORE you have found the home that you would like to purchase/refinance.

Along with being a mortgage professional, I am a food and wine enthusiast. I love sharing moments in time with people I know, and don't know, so that I can live a life full of perspective. I don't believe that anything in life is impossible. With a good attitude, anything can be accomplished!

There are pros and cons with a fixed rate mortgage versus an adjustable rate mortgage (ARM), especially for first time homebuyers. The low initial cost of adjustable-rate mortgages, or ARMs, can be very tempting to home buyers, yet they carry a degree of uncertainty. Fixed-rate mortgages offer rate and payment security, but they can be more expensive. With the right information, whether it is a refinance or a new home purchase, I can help my customers pick the best mortgage that meets their financial goals.

What should buyers check on a finished basement in San Rafael, CA?

Permits and egress first — a below-grade bedroom generally needs a code-compliant egress window or door, and unpermitted finish work can have to come out. Then moisture: look for efflorescence and staining low on the walls, find the sump and drainage setup, and ask directly about past water intrusion. Radon testing is inexpensive and belongs on the same list.

Does a finished basement count in the square footage?

Usually not in the headline figure. Appraisers conventionally report below-grade space separately from above-grade living area even when it is fully finished, and value it at a lower rate. That is why two homes with the same total finished space can appraise quite differently.
