About Paul Ragnvaldsson

Paul Ragnvaldsson (it’s pronounced RANG-vald-son) was born and raised in Strömsund, a small village in the northern part of Sweden, not far from the Arctic Circle. After a brief career in track and field as a hurdle runner, he brought his energy, enthusiasm, and an MBA education to Southern California, where he met and now lives with his wife Sarah and their daughter Sanna.

Paul got his professional start in marketing, engaged by Swedish icons IKEA and Saab. But he soon found his calling in Real Estate, where he takes great personal satisfaction in finding the perfect home or the perfect new location for families and businesses as they grow and thrive.

You won’t find a more committed or dedicated agent. Paul is available to his clients 24/7, and his conscientiousness and personal integrity guide the experience from beginning to end. Paul upholds the highest standards of ethics and professionalism and is a member of both the California Association of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors.

Calling San Diego home makes it easy for Paul to pursue leisure passions like tennis and golf and to do what he loves most: spend time with his family enjoying good food and movie nights. With Southern California’s beautiful weather, sandy beaches, a wide variety of excellent food and wine, superb skiing and hiking, Paul’s certain you couldn’t ask for more, and he looks forward to welcoming you to the neighborhood.

What should buyers check on a home with a pool in Encinitas, CA?

Have the pool inspected separately from the house — it is its own system, and the equipment, the surface, and underground plumbing leaks are all expensive in different ways. Ask the age of the pump, heater, and plaster or liner, whether there is any leak history, and what the local barrier and safety requirements are. Confirm with your insurer how a pool changes liability coverage before you close.

How much does a pool cost to maintain?

Running costs stack up from chemicals, pump electricity, water, and either a service or your own weekly time — and then there are the replacements: pumps, heaters, and resurfacing all have finite lives and four-figure price tags. Ask the seller for the last few years of actual pool expenses rather than working from a national average.
